Group Rules

1 - all art that is submitted has to be yourself not someone else you took a picture of
this group is meant for people who shoot themselves and wanna improve not photographers
who just wanna show of there work or want critiques there are tons of other groups for that

2 - all artistic nudes will be excepted no matter the quality male or female
as long as it doesnt breaks DA's rules on pornographic imagery FAQ #565: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic imagery'; what do you consider this to be?

3 - the art you suggest/submit has to an artistic nude pic not just a simple pic of your private parts or body as that will not be allowed there are probably other groups for that

4 - close ups are allowed as long as it is artistic
as said in rule 3

5 - All art suggested/submitted must be photography meaning no sexy cartoon stuff like hentai etc this is a group for beginning artistic nudes not sexy cartoons

6 - submit/suggest pics to the right folder because if you submit all to featured the answer to it beng added is gonna be no

Hi everybody,
I'm thinking of doing a photo shoot in a studio for experience, but I don't know where to start! If anyone can give any advice, that would be great. Thanks :)

Hello, I know this group is primarily for people who take nude photographs of themselves, so I was wondering? Does anyone have any advice or hints for new photographers? Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks

If possible try and shoot in a room with lots of natural light; daytime shooting is best to get started.
Use a camera with a timer, or remote - cell phones can work of course, but you're limited to only how far your arm can reach.
If your a guy — try natural poses. Power poses. Don't try and be "overly" sexy; it looks forced and phony (my opinion).
If your a girl — facial expression can mean everything. Be an actress; try and convey emotion. (again, my opinion).

I offer these as starters, not knowing of course, what level of experience you already have. Feel free to visit my page and see if anything strikes you.
I have stuff I like and stuff that is crap — it's trial and error.
Best wishes.

Thank you for your reply, your advice will be a big help. How do find taking nudes of others as compared to yourself?

Well, I've never taken too many shots of others. Nearly all of my gallery is me — and my husband and I took those shots. I guess roughly those break down to a 50-50 split.
I've done some shots for some girlfriends - just shots for their boyfriends or husbands, and nothing more than topless.
I've been wanting to work with more females but I live in a small area and those kinds of options are limited.
